360-degree views of surgical instruments in our store

We know it can be hard to select the right surgical instrument based on a small picture. That’s why we just added over 5000 high-quality images to our web store.

Rotating retractor 450 of our popular instruments in the Roboz surgical instrument store  now have full-screen images with high resolution to reveal important product detail. 120 of them can be virtually held in the hand for a look from every angle with stunning 360-degree rotating images.

Many people have a hard time selecting the right instrument for their procedure. Small differences in shape or angle may mean that the product is a better fit for an experiment. These details, however, remain hidden when there is only one still image illustrating the instrument.

Products are easiest to compare if they are opened in separate windows and sized appropriately relative to each other's overall size. Displaying the two windows or toggling between them allows a quick head-to-head comparison.

To see if an instrument has advanced pictures to illustrate its features, click on the Product detail button button under the thumbnail image when you visit a store category.

The smallest dissecting scissors with tungsten carbide and ceramic coated blades are here

Roboz is now offering new Bonn dissecting scissors with tungsten carbide and ceramic-coated blades, which, at 15mm, are the smallest on the market. These 3.5-inch long scissors are designed for high performance during precise, delicate procedures when micro scissors don’t offer sufficient strength.
Tungsten carbide is one of the hardest materials known to man – five times harder than stainless steel. This means that scissors with tungsten carbide blade inserts last much longer than stainless steel scissors, and keep their razor-sharp edge to allow for smooth cuts even after repeated use. Almost impervious to corrosion, these tough inserts are micro-bonded to the scissor tips to provide years of increased performance.
Ceramic coated scissors also have tungsten carbide blades, which are made even harder by the ceramic coating. One of the blades is serrated while the other one is very sharp in order to prevent tissue from slipping out from between the blades. The smooth way these scissors work and the effortless, clean cuts make it hard to go back to standard scissors for anyone who has tried them. Luckily, owners of these scissors will face that dilemma much less frequently as they last up to six times longer than stainless steel scissors.
The short (15mm) blades of these Bonn scissors are perfect for exacting procedures that require precise, gentle cuts. Whether it is the extraction of mouse brain or the demanding piercing of the trachea, the small blades made it easier to judge the depth of penetration and avoid damage to surrounding structures. The durability of tungsten carbide scissors makes them perfect for cutting cartilage or for repetitive cuts such as in necropsy studies.

Online discounts for new dissecting scissors and other instruments

Roboz Surgical regularly runs internet promotions and offers discounts on items ordered online. This month there are special prices on some of its Vannas scissors, micro forceps and dissecting scissors, with customers receiving as much as 40% off on select items.
Vannas scissors, used for microscopic surgery, are extremely thin and precise, allowing for small, exact incisions. Foerster forceps, also on special offer, have a unique octagonal handle to provide better grip and control. Another new addition, Harms forceps, have wide ergonomic shanks for superior handling, and are specially designed to close flat at the tips to securely grab and hold small objects.
Preferential online pricing can also be found on special dissecting scissors such as SureCut. The small serrations on one of the cutting blades ensure that slippage is not a problem even with soft or slick tissue, and their exceptional sharpness allow for effortless cutting.

Real-time inventory information means avoiding waiting for backordered products. Using the Roboz web store is fast, easy, convenient, and offers customers significant discounts. New promotion to promote proper maintenance of micro scissors and other surgical instruments

Meticulous care of microsurgical instruments prolongs their lives and maintains them in good condition. Take advantage of our new promotion and get a free instrument care kit with orders above $300 until the end of May. The kit contains a pouch for the safe storage of instruments, tip protectors to guard delicate tips during storage, regular and enzymatic instrument cleaner solutions, and a lubricant for hinged instruments. A sharpening stone is also included for sharpening the tips of fine forceps. The value of the care kit is approximately $90, which is a 30% discount overall on orders of $300.
Cleaning fine instruments, like Vannas scissors or micro forceps, is a challenge because traditional abrasive cleaning methods cannot be used. Instrument cleaners are a safe and effective way to cleanse delicate instruments. The Enzymatic Instrument Cleaner breaks down organic material rapidly and effectively, and it’s ingredients will not allow scale formation on the surface of the instruments.  Tough grime is often removed by ultrasonic cleaners. Instrument cleaners are safe to use with them.
Most people are concerned about their instruments rusting but few know how important lubrication is in extending the life of surgical instruments.  Using instrument lubricants, sometimes called "milk" because of the white color of the emulsion, decreases friction in the joints of instruments maintaining the instrument’s smooth, delicate action.  Corrosion is also effectively prevented by lubrication. As a result of regular lubrication, a hard coating develops on the surface of instruments which helps avoid damage from corrosion.

Our 2012 price list is available

We just published our new pricing effective February 1, 2012. We are glad to announce that we managed to maintain the prices of most of our products at their previous levels.
We decided to keep most of our 2012 prices at the same level they were in 2011 despite rising raw material and energy prices that already caused the costs of some of our products to increase. More importantly, many popular Roboz products will be offered at lower rates than in the previous year. Dissecting scissors, Dumont #5 forceps, micro scissors have all seen a drop in price.
While it was necessary to find ways to cut costs in order to decrease prices, our number one priority has been to sustain the highest possible quality that has made Roboz the industry standard in excellence.
Our web shop will display 2012 prices from February 1st.  The shop offers a convenient way to confirm current prices of individual instruments before submitting purchase orders. Be sure to check our online-only promotions with reduced prices.
Request a copy of the new price list or ask for other product-related information by sending an email to info@roboz.com or by calling us at 1-800-424-2984.
