New promotion to promote proper maintenance of micro scissors and other surgical instruments

Meticulous care of microsurgical instruments prolongs their lives and maintains them in good condition. Take advantage of our new promotion and get a free instrument care kit with orders above $300 until the end of May. The kit contains a pouch for the safe storage of instruments, tip protectors to guard delicate tips during storage, regular and enzymatic instrument cleaner solutions, and a lubricant for hinged instruments. A sharpening stone is also included for sharpening the tips of fine forceps. The value of the care kit is approximately $90, which is a 30% discount overall on orders of $300.
Cleaning fine instruments, like Vannas scissors or micro forceps, is a challenge because traditional abrasive cleaning methods cannot be used. Instrument cleaners are a safe and effective way to cleanse delicate instruments. The Enzymatic Instrument Cleaner breaks down organic material rapidly and effectively, and it’s ingredients will not allow scale formation on the surface of the instruments.  Tough grime is often removed by ultrasonic cleaners. Instrument cleaners are safe to use with them.
Most people are concerned about their instruments rusting but few know how important lubrication is in extending the life of surgical instruments.  Using instrument lubricants, sometimes called "milk" because of the white color of the emulsion, decreases friction in the joints of instruments maintaining the instrument’s smooth, delicate action.  Corrosion is also effectively prevented by lubrication. As a result of regular lubrication, a hard coating develops on the surface of instruments which helps avoid damage from corrosion.

Upcoming Exhibitions in Georgia

We will join two exhibitions in February organized by BioResearch Product Faire in Georgia. Come see us and take advantage of the opportunity to experience how instruments feel in the hand instead of trying to select the right tool by looking at catalog pictures. Guests will have the opportunity to discuss product-related issues with our representatives and inquire about specific products. We will display a wide range of our surgical instruments including the latest additions to our portfolio: new micro forceps, micro scissors and other products.
The first show will be held at the Georgia Center, Hill Atrium, at the University of Georgia, Athens on February 15, 2012. Gates open at 10:00 am.  Visitors can enjoy a free lunch while browsing the displays of biotech companies. The event will end at 2:30 pm.
Another exposition will be held on the following day, February 16, 2012 from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm, at Emory University, Atlanta, at the Emory Conference Center Hotel,. The event will include new product demonstrations, hot topic seminars, and scientific supplier exhibits in the Starvine Ballroom.
Principle investigators, research administrators, program administrators, post-docs, graduate students, research associates, and purchasing staff are all encouraged to attend.
Life science professionals on campus may register at the door on the day of the event. Others may need to register in advance with the organizer, Biotechnology Calendar, Inc.

Our 2012 price list is available

We just published our new pricing effective February 1, 2012. We are glad to announce that we managed to maintain the prices of most of our products at their previous levels.
We decided to keep most of our 2012 prices at the same level they were in 2011 despite rising raw material and energy prices that already caused the costs of some of our products to increase. More importantly, many popular Roboz products will be offered at lower rates than in the previous year. Dissecting scissors, Dumont #5 forceps, micro scissors have all seen a drop in price.
While it was necessary to find ways to cut costs in order to decrease prices, our number one priority has been to sustain the highest possible quality that has made Roboz the industry standard in excellence.
Our web shop will display 2012 prices from February 1st.  The shop offers a convenient way to confirm current prices of individual instruments before submitting purchase orders. Be sure to check our online-only promotions with reduced prices.
Request a copy of the new price list or ask for other product-related information by sending an email to info@roboz.com or by calling us at 1-800-424-2984.

Web only prices for dissecting scissors

We are offering web-only savings on select items from our line of Tungsten Carbide and Sure Cut dissecting scissors. These instruments represent the "best of the best" from our line of high quality German-made surgical instruments. They perform better and last even longer than our standard stainless steel instruments, and are now offered at a great price that will allow you to experience the difference these upgrades can make in your research.

Sure Cut scissors are designed to cut different types of tissue smoothly and easily. One blade is manufactured with micro-serrations perpendicular to the cutting edge and the other blade is honed to razor sharpness. The serrated edge grips very soft or tough tissue preventing slippage. The firm grip and the superior sharpness guarantee that cutting is always effortless with Sure Cut scissors.

Tungsten carbide is 5 times harder than stainless steel. Scissors with tungsten carbide inserts along their blades last much longer than stainless steel scissors.
